If you need to evacuate, always take your pets with you. Never leave them behind, as they could become lost, injured, or worse.
Just like you have a kit for yourself, your pet needs one too! Make sure it includes essential supplies to keep them safe and comfortable.
Not all shelters or hotels accept pets (except for service animals). Research pet-friendly options in advance and have a backup plan in case of emergency.
A microchip dramatically increases the chances of being reunited with a lost pet. Make sure your contact information is up to date in the microchip registry. Also, include an out-of-area emergency contact on your pet’s documentation in case local communication is disrupted.
